Welcome to worship this morning. We are continuing our series looking at 1 Peter thinking about how we live the best life we can amongst the current circumstances. Claire is speaking today on Living Relationships. We meet on zoom for coffee and cake after the service at 12.15pm. The link is here
Next week we look forward to having Rev Phil Barnard preaching. Phil is the London Baptist Association Regional Minister Team Leader.
Bible study continues this week. It has been so good to see so many people joining us each week to explore God's heart for mental health. Monday at 8pm and Wednesday at 10.30am. You can join using the link above.
We have a whole church prayer meeting at 8pm on Tuesday - again on the zoom above. It is good to get together and pray - we will be praying in particular for the days ahead as lockdown is gradually released and how we as a church respond to that.
Worship
Call to Worship
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Shout for joy to Him who chose us, before the creation of the world. Worship, with gladness, He who chose us for adoption into His family; Into a royal priesthood. Because it was His will and was to His pleasure.
For He is our God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The maker of Heaven and Earth. He chose us to be his people, the sheep of his pasture. He is our good shepherd. Leading us to green pastures and still water. Preparing a table for us to feast at, in the presence of our enemies.
As we gather together, though scatter we are one, let's enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. The name of Jesus. The name that is higher than any other. The name that is our strong tower. He is our refuge and fortress, our God, in whom we can trust. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Songs for Worship
A playlist of songs is below - you might want to save the last two for before and after the sermon
Thankfulness
In Week 3 of lent we are thinking about thanksgiving - looking at what we have and what is around us and giving thanks. What are you thankful for today? Watch the video for some thoughts on how we can be more thankful to God.
During this week (starting today) you might want to make a thankful book. Draw round your hands to make the pages and front and back covers then add things you are thankful to God for as you go. Keep it to remind you of God's goodness. Here is an example of one made and how to make it https://www.hacscrap.com/2013/11/easy-thankful-books-to-make-with-your.html
Prayers

Word
Our Sermon today is based on 1 Peter 3:1-7 - you can read it here
Blessing
To him who is able to keep us from stumbling and to present us before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy. To the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!
As we head into a new week and a new month, let us keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know him better. Let us press on toward the goal. Forgetting what is behind and striving to win the prize for which Christ called us.
