26th September - The wrong time to buy a field?


Welcome to our online service. This service is a replica of our in person service at 11am. If you are planning on joining in person, please bring a mask for singing. This week is a communion service (words are included below if you cannot make it in person). Sunday Zone is running and they will be following the same theme.

Harvest


As we move into the autumn we will only have one all age service a month, on the first Sunday of the month. October's all age service (next week!) is our Harvest service. This year we are stocking up our own pantry with goods - we're expecting our food parcel work to increase as Universal Credit decreases and the furlough scheme ends. Any monetary donations will go to NightWatch who work with the homeless in Croydon. For details of what we need for our pantry see here


After the service next week we are staying for a soup lunch, all are welcome to join us.


Member's Meetings


Dates for your diary:


Member's meeting - 10th October 2021 after the service - agenda includes a membership application and an update on what we are doing and where we are headed next as well as time for discussion and prayer.


AGM - 21st November 2021 after the service - papers will be available before the meeting. We have vacancies for deacons and elders and one deacon up for re-election - more details will follow nearer the time.


We would encourage all members to attend these meetings if they can. Non-members are welcome, but will not be able to vote. If you are interested in membership please speak to Claire or one of the deacons.


Prayer Course


Starting tomorrow - Monday 27th September (with a break for half term) we will be running The Prayer Course on Zoom at 8pm and at 2pm in person on Mondays. This is an 8 week course that will help you to grow and deepen your prayer life and it is based on the Lord's Prayer. See the intro video below.

Chatterbox Stay and Play


Chatterbox begins this week on Tuesdays at 1.15pm-2.45pm. Please pray for the team as we re-connect with families and welcome new ones.

Romans 8:31-39 The Message


So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t

hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture.........


.........None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
