Sunday 2nd August - Songs of Vulnerability

Welcome to our service today. We continue with our series in the Psalms looking at Psalm 71 - often thought of as the Psalm of an elderly person. Please join us on zoom for after church coffee at 12.15pm. You can find us here

Our plans for September are now detailed in a letter which can be found on the members section of this website (please message for password) and has been circulated on video which is available on our update page here. If you have any questions please get in touch.

Most of our activities, including Bible Study are now taking a break for the summer, however we will continue to meet for worship online throughout.

As we come to worship let us pray and focus our minds on God

“Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.” Psalm 37: 7 Lord, help me to relax.

Take from me the tension that makes peace impossible. Take from me the fears that do not allow me to venture. Take from me the worries that blind my sight. Take from me the distress that hides your joy.

Help me to know that I am with you, that I am in your care, that I am in your love, that you and I are one.

Here are the songs for today - you might want to save the last couple for towards the end

Have a read of Matthew 5:14-16 or watch this video that takes those words and puts them into pictures

If we have something to share we must share it. If we have good news we must live it - there is no reason to hide what we believe about Jesus because it is amazing.

Think of ways you can point to Jesus through your words and through your actions. How can you make a difference in someone's life today? Put your thinking into action!

You might want to listen to/sing this song as you think about it!

Our prayers today are led by Camille

Our Sermon today is based on Psalm 71 - you might find it helpful to read it before you watch the video - you can find it here
